Thanks for writing this and sharing it in the chats on Rumble. Super informative. I have only dabbled in growing my own cannabis, but so far it has come out very good. Would love to have more time to put into it. Thanks again.

Hey grow got a question. figured here be better than between chat lines. Got involved with making RSO oil for the health. This method just uses 200 proof alcohol that soaks in the bud before using cheesecloth to squeeze it out. Trying it out on on me and my dog's fat tumor and see if it dissolves. Seems like utube directions say use only bud. Do have a lot of shake, bout all fan leaves, was thinking maybe using that for the oil. Do you think the fan leaves would have enough cannabinoids to make it worthwhile? Thats absent the flavonoids and terpenes, I guess, from the bud/sugar leaves.

smay60, I use some trimmings when making oil, not the fan leaves. Make sure everything is frozen before using alcohol. I make small batches using a quart mason jar. If you are going to get into a lot of oil, you need a way to capture the alcohol you boil off, like a still to reuse the alcohol more than once. If you use bud trim and small flowers that didn't get enough light to get big you will get all the flavinoids and terpenes in your oil.

yeah thks. Recipe did call for a hour freeze of alcohol before mix, then couple hrs freeze of mixture. Used a small batch/small mason first time around also. Guess the still feature saves using so much alcohol. But does used alcohol already mixed add a little more to the next batch. Do have trim of bottom leaf and bud also; been lollipopping each plant too. Okay, so does it take a mature bud to get the cannabinoids. Got a sack full of fan leaf and stem. Seen you can make butter but just by adding to butter already got. Fan leaves guess good for compost only.

I put everything in the freezer for 24 hrs before I make oil, The flowers, alcohol, jar, everything. If you distill the alcohol there will only be alcohol as the end result. The remainder stays in the pot you are cooking. If you want the mature cannabinoids you need to use mature flowers.. The cannabinoids don't continue to mature once off the plant. So you need to make sure your flowers are mature enough before harvest. You just don't want a lot of clear trichomes. Those cause anxiety and paranoia. Fan leaves are good for CBD not THC. I usually just put them on the ground to help rebuild the soil. Hope this helps...Peace...

Enjoyed the article. After a lifetime of experience for most of us; the laws against reefer were indeed political than actualities. Also remember stationed in KS early 70s we camped out in fields of marijuana. Those were the hemp plants grown for the twine than the THC. Leftover fields from before the days of prohibition of cannabis. After decades of trying the medical reason at least broke the barrier. We're getting there.

Wow, what a thorough analysis of hemp/marijuana. I remember an old boyfriend trying to grow plants in the spare bedroom closet with grow lights. The seedlings, when they started growing and got those first two jagged leaves. They grew taller than that but i don’t remember the final outcome. They had to have been Sativa. You did a wonderful job detailing the history and laws that changed over the years. I am really impressed Grow. You could teach a class or hold a conference, activating the audience. Then send everyone to break to get high and then when they get back, explain to them why they are feeling the way they are. Interactive class or conference. You could be a guest row. on a show with your knowledge. Canna butter. I had a friend that used to make that. I remember her waiting on the oil. Thank you for the very informative Substack Grow. I learned a lot. 😎👍🇺🇸😸❤️

Jackie, thank you for your kind words, I'm glad you liked the article. Like I've stated before, there is so much I left out it was hard to decide what to put in and what to leave out. Thanks again for your comment.

Tracy like I stated at the beginning of the article If I went in deep on the article it would have been around 100 pages with references to scientific papers and other sources. The hardest part for me is what to not write about. I wanted it to be a fairly through overview so even people who knew a lot about cannabis could pick up a nugget or two that they didn't know. Thanks for you kind words and vote of confidence. You are greatly appreciated...Peace..

Collin, If you have facebook, look up Corrie Yelland. She helps people cure their cancers with cannabis oil. I just scratched the surface of cannabis. as I stated before the hardest part is what to leave out.. Thanks for the comment and for reading my rambles..

The Art of Willow, Thank you for your kind words, I've written a lot of legal information on Cannabis over the years, at one time I was an expert witness for a few cases in courts. The people who hired me ended up winning their cases or settling their cases with NDA's for large sums of $$$$, I also did a deep dive into the health benefits of cannabis the hardest thing about writing this was what to leave out. Thanks again for the kind words... Peace..

There are programs that will help you with punctuation, capitalization, spelling and grammar. I use them all the time. They make my writing look and read good. It would be a mess if I didn't have them. Microsoft word does wonders...
